Our new AKUNA Fins are the perfect addition for any Spearo looking for flexibility and durability. Our AKUNA Fins will allow you to have the peace of mind you need by not breaking on you, thanks to the thinner but tougher and more flexible plastic used.
In addition to the great flexibility, our foot pockets are made of a comfortable silicon which have the ability to take other brands’ blades.
Design:
While you are out in the ocean freediving or spearfishing, you are going to need a set of fins that are light, flexible and durable. Especially if you’re going to be surrounded by rough surfaces or anything potentially damaging. This is where our AKUNA Fins truly shine. The Polypropylene material used on the fins is highly durable and light enough to hold up against whatever you throw at it. With cost taken into account, you can rest easy knowing that these fins will give you the best bang for your buck while freediving or spearfishing.
In addition to the blade, our AKUNA Fins have a separate foot pocket. The foot pocket itself is made of Thermo Plastic Rubber, making it comfortable and easy to put on for your diving or spearfishing adventures. We understand that some people may have a preference for other blade materials like carbon fibre for open ocean adventures, that’s why our foot pockets allow you to swap out the provided blades and use other blades you prefer – should you wish to.
Key Product Features:
- Soft, comfortable & durable rubber foot pockets made with a Thermo Plastic Rubber.
- Changeable, high-performance blades made from a durable Polypropylene material.
- Molded rubber foot pocket is engineered to prevent over-flexing, which makes it ideal for beginners or for swimming and diving long hours in shallower waters.
Sizing Guide:
IMPORTANT NOTE:Â The size chart below has been adjusted to cater for a neutral foot that has a 3.5mm neoprene dive sock on.
Note that every person’s feet are different so you will have to gauge sizing from other footwear you possess (use the EURO size if possible) and (i) whether your feet are wide or narrow, plus (ii) the thickness of neoprene sock you are wearing in the fin.
FIN SIZE | EURO | US (Men) | US (Women) |
XXS | 36-37 | 4 – 5½ | 5½ – 6½ |
XS | 38-39 | 6 – 7 | 7 – 8 |
S | 40-41 | 7½ – 8½ | 8½ – 10 |
M | 42-43 | 9 – 9½ | 10 – 11½ |
L | 44-45 | 10 – 11½ | 12 – 13 |
XL | 46-47 | 11½ – 13 | 13½ – 14½ |
XXL | 48-50 | 13½ – 15½ | 15 – 17 |
If you fall between two sizes, then opting for:
- The smaller size will be a better fit for narrow feet and/or thinner neoprene socks, eg 1.5mm – 2.0mm.
- The larger size will be a better fit for wider feet and/or thicker neoprene socks, eg 5.0mm or 7.0mm.
If you are still struggling to choose, it is better to opt for the larger size since the Fin Pockets are large and will encapsulate the foot, plus traction with neoprene sock grip will help the fins stay on the foot.
Examples:
- Dave (male) has a Size 11.5 US, wide foot in a 3.5mm sock. It would be best for him to purchase an XL Fin. (A Size L Fin will fit but will be tight.)
- Jane (female) has a Size 10 US, narrow foot in a 2.0mm sock. It would be best for her to purchase a S Fin. (A Size M Fin will fit if she has wide feet or a thicker sock.)
